Engine Room Supervisor

The Engine Room Supervisor oversees and performs daily maintenance and repair of our refrigeration systems, as well as the heating and cooling equipment within the warehouse/distribution center.

Some of the responsibilities include:

Maintain the daily operations of the ammonia refrigeration system Monitor ammonia deliveries and respond to all ammonia system alarm calls Conduct safety testing processes Complete all daily preventative maintenance to ensure uninterrupted operations Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and local agencies including OSHA and EPA Technical/Refrigeration Engineers Technician Association (RETA) required HAZMAT certification preferred 5+ years of previous experience operating anhydrous ammonia systems Experience with heating and cooling equipment Possess mechanical and repair experience Must have significant knowledge of state, federal, and local laws relative to OSHA and EPA Familiar with Graphic Automation Software and controls Knowledge of general warehouse practices Strong verbal and written communication skills Required to be “on-call” Must have adequate vision, hearing and motor coordination to safely work at extreme heights, confined spaces and around mechanical and electric equipment. Physical requirements include walking, bending crawling, reaching, stooping, twisting and lifting over 30 lbs, and the ability to withstand a production environment with exposure to dust, fumes and varying temperatures.
