The Position: Director, Assistant Controller in the Financial Reporting group
The Opportunity: Great company, interesting work AND be groomed for the Controller role (the incumbent is set to retire in the next few years).
What You’ll Do:
Ø The Assistant Controller acts as the second-in-charge in the Financial Reporting function
Ø Direct all general accounting and financial reporting functions for Parent & Subs, domestic and foreign
Ø You will be responsible for directing the preparation and analysis of financial statements across the company complex, including the consolidated, subsidiary and Legal Entity, and regulatory filings both foreign and domestic.
Ø Lead the development and implementation of financial reporting policies and procedures and direct financial reporting control and compliance standards.
Ø Supervise accounting team leaders across locations
Ø Research existing & new accounting pronouncements, determine relevance & implement as necessary
Ø Review business ventures, and in coordination with key stakeholders, identify accounting issues, perform due diligence, and implement as appropriate
Must Have:
Ø 15+ years of relevant experience with a mix of Big 4 and corporate experience – financial services industry background is preferred
Ø BS in Accounting
Ø CPA
Ø Strong technical accounting skills, solid analytical, problem solving and decision making skills and the ability to manage to deadlines.
Ø Ability to Inspires others and develop talent
